Standing term 1. What is ratified

An accord ratifies one thing: a preceptor or field-experience placement that the member's program will count, with the affiliation, credential and compliance paperwork the placement needs arranged by the Alliance. Practicumalliance is an independent body. No university, licensing board or accrediting agency is party to it, endorses it or sponsors it.

Standing term 2. What the council will not countersign

No accord is ratified for a grade, for a preceptor chosen by name, for a site the program's handbook excludes, or for a placement whose supervision clause cannot be satisfied. The council says so before the accord is drafted and before any fee is quoted.

Standing term 3. The member's clauses

A member warrants that the program and term are stated accurately, delivers documents on the secretary's request, and attends the hours ratified. Where a placement fails because a warranty was false or the hours were not attended, the Alliance owes no replacement.

Standing term 4. Fees

Every fee is written into the accord before it is signed and does not move unless the placement itself moves. The accord states when payment falls due and what is returned if no placement can be ratified.

Standing term 5. Closing an accord

Either party may close an accord by written notice. Work already performed is charged at the rate the accord states; papers already lodged with a school stay lodged unless the school itself asks for them back.
